GLOSSARY: |
Dharma Cakra: it is a collective meditation starting with the Samgacchaddhvam mantra
|
Kiirtan: chanting the mantra Baba Nam Kevalam with the Lalita Marmika dance movements
|
Avartha Kiirtan: it is a Kiirtan in which one changes the melody 6 times and faces a different direction each time. It symbolizes that the Supreme Being is in all directions.
|
Paincajanya: it is a special practice of meditation perforned at 5:00 AM and includes singing a devotional song, kiirtan, and meditation. It lasts for 30-35 minutes.
|
Asanas: the physico-psychic exercises of Yoga
|
Sa’dhana’: in Sanskrit for spiritual practice or effort towards spiritual elevation. Sometimes simply translated as meditation practice.
|
Sa’dhana’ Shivir: it is.a practice that alternates Kiirtan with silent meditation. It helps one to go deeper into meditation without the need to sit for a long time in a stretch.
|
Iishvara Pra’n’idha’na: this is the name of the first lesson of Ananda Marga meditation. It is the basic lesson providing the foundation for all advanced lessons.
|
Brahmacakra: the cycle of creation. It is the theory of how the universe has been created out of Consciousness and how all beings are moving back towards Higher Consciousness.

Katha Kiirtan: spiritual story telling
|
Akhanda Kiirtan: Kiirtan perforned in a circle for 3 hours or multiple of 3 hours. It is a strong collective practice that generates tremendous spiritual energy and bliss.

Dharmashastra: spiritual discourse/talk after collective meditation usually by an Acarya or senior practitioner.
|
Dada Rainjitananda originally hails from Brazil. He was a civil engineer by profession and also holds an MBA (Master in Business Admin). But his real passion is teaching the ancient science of Tantra Yoga & medita- tion. He studied at the Seva Dharma Mission Center in India and gradu- ated as an Acharya, (a spiritual teacher) in 1985. Dada is also a certified Yoga Alliance teacher.
He has travelled the globe, running social service projects in East Africa, teaching yoga and meditation seminars all over Europe. Since arriving in New York in 2000 Dada has taught meditation to hundreds of people, lectured in colleges and given Webinars (online seminars) in English, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish. At present Dada is developing a Meditation and Yoga Retreat Center in the Catskills, NY.
